Jordan Colbert, Founder of Assistive Technology and Educational Access Management (A-TEAM) Professional Consulting, is a champion of inclusivity, intersectionality, and digital accessibility. He is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals. Jordan also holds a credential as an Assistive Technology Professional through the Rehabilitation and Engineering Society of North America and a Section 508 Trusted Tester credential from the Department of Homeland Security. Hailing from outside Atlantic City, New Jersey, he proudly identifies as a biracial first-generation and low-income graduate. His educational journey spans both sides of the US, from receiving his B.A. in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC).

He began his career in accessibility services at USC in 2015, providing crucial academic accommodations to students with disabilities and developing an assistive technology program to deliver practical training in text-to-speech and screen reader technology. In addition to his accessibility consulting business, Jordan became the Associate Director of Assistive Technology for Yale University in 2021. Before his work in accessibility, Jordan served as a psychotherapist with high school students and provided Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to substance abuse populations. His achievements also include producing three audiobooks, co-authoring a chapter in TeachAccess’ When AI Meets Accessibility: Considerations for Higher Education, and presenting multiple times for the AHEAD Annual Conference.

Nick Ruiz serves as Senior Product Manager for Education at Verbit, where he leverages over a decade of experience in Speech and Conversational AI technologies to break down communication barriers for deaf, hard of hearing, and multilingual communities.

With a doctorate in Computer Science focusing on speech translation, Nick is approaching accessibility and Title II compliance as the building block to deliver cost-effective AI technologies that improve the learning experience for all students.
