Canvas Studio Integration
Instructure, a leading learning management platform and maker of Canvas, a central hub for online, hybrid and in-person classrooms, announced this week the launch of its Canvas Studio Professional Captioning solution and integration partnership with Verbit.
Verbit’s direct integration with Canvas Studio simplifies the captioning process and enables educators to make video course content accessible for students in just a few clicks, eliminating the need to transfer files between multiple video hosting solutions or manually correct captioning outputs.
“In the ever-evolving world of education, accessibility is not just a buzzword; it’s a fundamental necessity,” Instructure noted in its product announcement. “Students rely on diverse content formats to grasp information effectively, especially those with disabilities who require accommodations like captions for audiovisual materials.

Kaltura Media Console and Media Space Integrations
Verbit also offers integrations with the Kaltura Management Console and Kaltura Media Space.
Kaltura’s Management Console is a web-based platform that acts as a central hub for managing and organizing multimedia content, particularly video, within Kaltura’s system while Kaltura’s Media Space is where users can interact with the Kaltura system. In both cases, our integrations provide seamless connections to Verbit’s high-quality transcription, captioning and audio description services, enhancing accessibility and streamlining video workflows.
We recently enhanced our Kaltura integrations to allow educators to request Extended Audio Description for any video. This takes video accessibility to the next level, providing equal access for learners who are blind or with low vision. Audio description is a requirement for compliance with WCAG 2 Level AA standards, and Extended Audio Description is the best way to meet this requirement for educational content.
