Verbit would like to thank everyone who took the time at Legalweek 2025 to stop by our booth, attend our panel discussion and watch demos of our latest AI-driven legal technology in action.
We had a great time connecting with legal professionals, industry colleagues and new acquaintances and showcasing the successful launch of Verbit Legal Visor™, our AI-powered transcription platform that delivers analysis of live spoken testimony, audio and video, giving litigators a competitive edge with real-time deposition insights.
Legalweek 2025 brought together more than 6,000 legal professionals from nearly three dozen countries, creating a dynamic forum to explore the latest trends, innovations and challenges shaping the legal landscape. As one of the most anticipated events in the legal industry, the conference featured keynote addresses from industry leaders, in-depth educational tracks and expert-led panel discussions ─ all offering valuable insights into the future of legal practice.
This year’s event placed a strong focus on the intersection of technology and law, with discussions surrounding generative AI, legal tech innovations, pricing models and the evolving delivery of legal services. Attendees also explored strategies for navigating an increasingly competitive legal market, including talent management, law firm growth and client value strategies.
Below are a few of our highlights and takeaways from this year’s conference.
Artificial intelligence and the practice of law
Artificial intelligence and its growing use in the legal sector were focal points of the conference, with discussions around AI’s role in automating routine tasks, enhancing data analysis and improving decision-making processes taking center stage.
Among the AI-powered solutions garnering attention was Legal Visor, our new AI-powered platform that gives litigators real-time, in-the-moment insights during legal proceedings. Built upon Verbit’s proprietary Captivate™ transcription platform, Legal Visor enhances legal decision-making by leveraging AI-driven insights, delivering unprecedented clarity during complex depositions, hearings and arbitrations and enabling attorneys to capture key details or evidence that could significantly impact case outcomes.
Legal Visor’s useful features include inconsistency detection that flags discrepancies within testimonies, prior statements and documents; an Intelligent search function that enables semantic and generative querying within statements, testimonies and case materials; virtual collaboration that allows for instant sharing of transcripts with team members; and chaptering and summaries that create quick, concise overviews of depositions for easy review with colleagues or stakeholders.

Legal Visor in action
We didn’t just talk about our newest offering – we tested the technology in real-time in front of a live audience of legal tech professionals, attorneys and legal tech companies. In a series of ‘mock depositions,’ we put industry leaders such as Legal Tech Hub’s Jeroen Plink, Nikki Shaver and Cheryl Wilson Griffin and Fisher Phillips’ Evan Shenkman in the hot seat, asking them questions and having our Legal Visor solution successfully generate accurate transcripts and provide live insights and quick, concise overviews of their depositions.
Building a legal innovation team
The conference highlighted the importance of fostering innovation within legal teams with sessions focused on assembling dedicated teams to drive technological adoption and process improvements, ensuring that firms remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
A key to developing an agile, innovative team lies in training and upskilling. To that end, Verbit hosted a panel discussion focused on training young lawyers on new technologies for an AI-driven future. “The AI Training Revolution: Equipping Young Attorneys for the New Normal” discussed how AI is reshaping the skillsets needed in today’s legal industry and how some are harnessing technology as both a training tool and a competitive advantage.
More than 100 people attended the session, moderated by JP Son, Verbit’s Chief Legal Officer, and featuring panelists Nikki Shaver, Evan Shenkman, AltaClaro CEO & Founder Abdi Shayesteh and K&L Gates Of Counsel Alicia Hawley.
Legal experts predict that generative AI will soon become a mandatory part of law school curricula, with a growing divide between institutions and firms that embrace AI training and those that do not. Among the topics covered during the session included the shift toward AI technology in law, the growing need for AI education, ways to bridge the gap between AI and traditional legal skills and law students’ attitudes toward AI.

Managing litigation costs
Another of the conference’s key topics centered around managing litigation costs, especially in areas like eDiscovery and data management. Industry professionals said that rising expenses related to such things as document review, depositions and compliance efforts make it important for firms and legal departments to implement cost-effective solutions that enhance efficiency without sacrificing accuracy.
Verbit’s suite of legal solutions helps streamline workflows and reduce costs by providing AI-powered transcription services tailored for legal proceedings. Our technology automates key processes, delivering fast, high-quality transcripts for depositions, hearings and client meetings — significantly cutting down on manual review time. Additionally, our solutions integrate seamlessly with legal case management systems, improving collaboration and accessibility while minimizing administrative overhead.
For firms managing large volumes of legal data, Verbit’s combination of AI and human expertise ensures the highest level of accuracy, even with complex legal terminology. By leveraging Verbit’s services, legal professionals can allocate resources more efficiently, control litigation expenses and focus on case strategy rather than time-consuming transcription and documentation tasks.
Cybersecurity and data privacy
The conference also featured discussions on data privacy and security (and AI’s impact on those segments) that emphasized the legal sector’s role in incident response planning and recovery. Discussions focused on ensuring compliance with global data regulations and how to safeguard sensitive information against breaches.
