With Global Accessibility Awareness Day coming up this week on Thursday, May 20th, it’s only fitting for the education community to host multiple events focused on this important matter. Verbit’s leadership are investing in events which focus on the idea that accessibility and inclusive design are more important than ever.

Accessibility continues to become of greater concern to more stakeholders across universities and businesses. These leaders are taking critical steps to ensure the environments they’re providing and content they’re showcasing are inclusive. Professionals are taking the time to hold themselves accountable in meeting the diverse needs of today’s students, professionals and audiences, which is incredible to witness.

As such, Verbit is participating in three education conferences this week, being hosted by Mediasite, EDUCAUSE and Knowbility, respectively. As Verbit’s leadership works hand-in-hand with universities and businesses to offer them accessibility solutions, there are a plethora of findings and helpful tidbits to share.

Be sure to catch professionals from Verbit and our captioning and transcription technology in action at the following events:

EDUCAUSE’s ELI Annual Meeting

From May 18–20th, Verbit will be a presence at EDUCAUSE’s premier event for higher education teaching and learning professionals. The event explores solutions to the education community’s key challenges, explores innovative technology and services available to them and unites professionals for shared expertise.

On Wednesday at 10am EST, Verbit’s Scott Ready and Matthew Westbrook will deliver a session at ELI dedicated to Verbit’s live technologies and explore success stories from its partnerships with universities like University of Florida and Virginia Tech. The session, Live Course Captioning: A Training Session by Verbit, will help attendees learn how live captioning and transcription can be provided to students learning online and remotely.

Verbit will offer training on live captioning and exactly how to do it to serve students and meet their unique needs as they learn via Zoom or any other web conferencing platform. Attendees will witness how they can help their students engage more effectively with their course content and offer equitable opportunities to those who learn in different ways and can benefit from more interactive tools in their remote classes. Participants will also be able to ask questions and receive answers during the live session.

Knowbility’s AccessU Virtual Conference

AccessU is designed to bring the accessibility community to your desktop with sessions on topics like AI, keynote presentations, networking sessions and more. Verbit will be sponsoring the Justin Dart Room during this three day conference from May 18-20th, with education and customer success leaders like Bethany Stoltz, delivering opening remarks each day at 9am CST.

Verbit’s Kevin Sklar will also be delivering two product demos and networking discussions on Wednesday, May 19th during the conference session breaks at 10:30am CST and 1:45pm CST.

Mediasite’s MSX21

If navigating the new virtual and hybrid event world and embracing hybrid classroom environments has been easy for you this year, we’d love to know your secret. Verbit is partnering with Mediasite for MSX21 to help professionals emerge as leaders in the age of video with greater insights and exposure to effective technologies.

Verbit will be offering the captioning for this immersive virtual experience focused on how both higher education institutions and enterprises can set themselves up for success in this ever-changing digital world. From virtual events which replaced annual business conferences to hybrid classroom environments, MSX21 is designed to give attendees key insights on how to ensure video engagement and accessibility are delivered to all professionals and students. Learn more and see Verbit’s captioning solution in action on May 19-20th.

We hope to see you there and encourage you to join these sessions and send us a ‘hello’ if you’re participating in one of our web conferencing sessions.
