Quick Overview

The Peres Center for Peace & Innovation’s leaders have deemed accessibility, captioning and translation as critical offerings to provide to its visitors for the best experience possible. To date, Verbit has captioned more than 500 videos for them, totaling 15 hours of audio across four languages. The center is now able to effectively and inclusively spread its message and mission to international audiences and visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The Challenge

The Peres Center for Peace & Innovation has both a local and international visitor base. Over the past five years, they’ve welcomed more than 300,000 visitors from around the globe. Its leaders recognized the need for an efficient, advanced solution to make its content and exhibits more accessible to visitors with disabilities. They also were seeking translation solutions to better engage their international audience members in their native languages.

The Solution

The center selected Verbit as its captioning and translation partner due to the accuracy, speed and multilingual capabilities its technology and team presented. “After evaluating several options, it became clear that Verbit’s innovative approach and ability to handle large volumes of content efficiently aligned perfectly with our needs,” said Rachel Cohen, Project Manager, Education for Innovation Department.

Advice for peers at other museums and centers

When captioning/transcribing content and selecting a partner, peers should prioritize accuracy to ensure captions faithfully represent the content. It’s also crucial to choose a partner who can handle large volumes of work efficiently and within tight deadlines. Additionally, consider a partner with strong multilingual capabilities to effectively reach and engage a diverse, international audience. Finally, evaluate the cost-effectiveness of their services, ensuring that you get high-quality results at a reasonable price.
