Our AI-driven technology is designed to capture the fast pace and energy of live sports. From stadium games to arena events, Verbit ensures every play, call and commentary is accurately captioned. Our solutions are customizable, scalable and integrate seamlessly with your venue’s AV systems, scoreboards and streaming platforms, delivering real-time accessibility for fans both in-person and online.

Seamless Streaming. Accessible for Every Fan

Take your live sports broadcasts beyond the stadium. Verbit’s integration with Wowza lets you embed real-time, accurate captions directly into your live streams — ensuring every play, goal, and announcement reaches every fan, everywhere.

Scalable for every sport and venue

From local matches to championship finals, Verbit grows with your needs. Whether you’re hosting a single game, a full season, or a multi-sport tournament, our flexible workflows adapt seamlessly.

Support for multiple languages

Our captioning, transcription and translation solutions are available in more than 30 languages. Verbit delivers live subtitles and multilingual captions for global fans whether they speak Spanish, French, Mandarin or Arabic.

Files in any format you need

We can deliver transcripts in any template of your choosing and accommodate customization needs for caption alignment. We support SRT files, VTT, SCC, SAMI and additional formats, plus offer RTMP, HLS and SRT protocol support for broadcasts and live streaming. We also provide SMPTE timecodes, speaker identification, various spatial video formats and vertical captioning.

Speaker identification

Our AI-driven engine, Captivate, is now enhanced with speaker identification, a first-of-its-kind feature for live ASR captioning. Unlike traditional captions that rely on chevrons (>>) or dashes to indicated speaker transitions, Verbit’s AI tags real-time dialogue with speaker names and identifies not just speaker changes but the speakers themselves.

FAQs

What are the benefits of captioning in stadiums?

Captions help fans who are Deaf or hard of hearing, support non-native speakers and enhance the experience for everyone during loud moments.

What are captioning best practices for venues?

Use real-time captions that incorporate sport-specific terminology and team names. Offer both open and closed captioning options, and make sure captions are accessible on multiple displays, such as jumbotrons, ribbon boards, mobile apps or personal devices.

How does real-time captioning work for live sports?

Verbit’s Venue Live uses automatic speech recognition (ASR) powered by our proprietary Captivate™ engine. It’s pre-trained on key names, teams and terminology and delivered in real time to in-venue and digital displays.

How do captions fit with other accessibility features at venues?

Captioning works alongside sign language interpreters, hearing loops, accessible seating and visual signage to create a comprehensive accessibility strategy.
