  • What is Transcription?

    Transcription involves converting spoken English audio or video into a written document.
    It is done by listening to the audio and typing it out.
    With there is no need to type everything from scratch – our algorithm will provide a transcribed text for you – all you need to do is edit. This will allow you to transcribe faster and better.
  • What does this job entail?

    As a transcriber at, you’ll have access to a constantly updated list of audio and/or video files that need to be transcribed. You can login to the platform and choose the files you would like to work on by clicking on the file name – we do not assign files to you.
    Your job will be transcribing the audio file you’ve claimed using our online transcription editor. We never force you to take a certain type of job or work specific hours. You can always go back to the jobs list to find the next audio file that interests you.
    You get paid out every second Monday based on all the audio files you completed in the prior week.
  • Do I have to work a minimum number of hours? Do I have to work at specific times of the week?

    We have no minimums for when or how much you work. The beauty of our platform is that you can work as little, or as much as you want! Some of our transcribers work part time, while others work consistently throughout the week. Work is always available and you can choose a file to work on at any time of the day, so you can decide when you start and stop working.

  • How do I get started?

    You can login to the platform and claim files to work on by clicking on the file name – we do not assign them to you.
    Our algorithm will automatically generate a transcript for you to edit, and upon completion you simply “Send for review”. Sections that have many transcription errors may be deleted and retyped from scratch.
    The file will be automatically unassigned from you in case you did not perform any action on it, for two hours straight.
    You can always go back to the jobs list to find the next audio file that interests you!
  • What other opportunities are available for transcribers?

    Transcribers also have the chance to become a “Reviewer”, responsible for proofreading and editing transcribers – upon high score and quality, transcribers are promoted.

  • What is my employment status at

    You are an independent contractor, and not a formal employee.

  • Can I use a foot pedal?

    Not at present. Try reading the training section for more information regarding the tools we provide for you.
