About the role

We place a lot of importance on finding the best of the best to create, manage, market and sell our cutting-edge AI platform that is revolutionizing Media, Education and Legal verticals by utilizing transcription, captioning and GenAI abilities.

We’re looking for a highly-driven and experienced Head of ML/AI research group to own all aspects of our speech technology and AI efforts - leading and developing the team, setting goals, conducting research, communicating with parallel groups and influencing business directions.

You will be reporting directly to the VP R&D and working closely with our CTO to build Verbit next gen state-of-the-art solution.


Responsibilities:

• Managing the daily activities of our distributed research group.

• Running an agile ML technology development and deployment process to deliver

 value for Verbit’s customers, provide ML-based tools that enable disruptive solutions and improving internal workflow.

• Owning the strategic and tactical aspects of our IP development, balancing the short, medium and long term efforts.

• Communicating effectively with product and engineering groups in order to work synergistically towards Verbit’s business goals.

• Growing the team and hiring excellent machine learning engineers and researchers.

Maintaining the culture of innovation and execution, fostering communication and a joyful atmosphere in accordance with company core values.

• Staying abreast of technological developments.

Cultivating and expanding Verbit’s AI brand.

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

• PhD in computer science, with a focus in machine learning or related field

• 5+ years experience of leading teams in speech recognition, computer vision or related deep learning field

• Experience with GenAI - an advantage

• Proven track-record in building ML-based systems used in production

• Proven track-record hiring, training, managing and retaining world-class engineers

 Solid engineering background

• Strong organizational and people management skills

• Experience working directly with product to deliver business value

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, good-spirited, and fun to work with hungry, driven, owner-like mind frame
