Professionals working on computers

More business leaders and corporations are making conscious efforts and launching programs to ensure they’re supporting diverse employees and creating inclusive work environments.

Join us live on March 2 as we host a live webinar, Building an Inclusive Workplace & Brand with leading experts on diversity and inclusion from Walmart and Disability:IN.

The event is open to all to attend and is designed to be interactive and full of knowledge sharing. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and learn best practices to keep top-of-mind as they aim to foster inclusive environments for employees and inclusive brands for their consumers.

Reasons to Join

While promoting a welcoming workplace for all is a worthwhile effort in itself, inclusivity improves company performance. In fact, inclusive companies increase their chances of meeting financial targets by 120%

Additionally, diversity and inclusion are critical in the competition for top talent. For example, 67% of job seekers say they want to work for a company that prioritizes diversity, and hiring people with disabilities increases employee retention by 90%.

With so many compelling reasons to focus on inclusion, the best time to seek expert tips is now.

Hear From Disability and Inclusion Experts

Attendees will meet and hear from two individuals who have firsthand experience of the impact of inclusive workplaces. Now, they’re helping to forge diverse workplaces at some of the US’s top corporate companies.

Dorothy Garcia:  As Director of Global Disability Equality Index, Garcia spearheads Disability: IN’s global inclusion strategy. Before joining the world-leading business disability inclusion nonprofit, Garcia was the program director for the State Department-sponsored Professional Fellows Program on Inclusive Disability Employment. In that role, she planned and executed the Harkin International Disability Employment Summit, which brings together Fortune 500 companies and other stakeholders to positively reframe global support for professional people with disabilities.

Russell Shaffer: As Senior Director of Global Culture, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at Walmart, Shaffer and his team work on Walmart’s CDEI strategy and reports on the company’s employee engagement, analytics, benchmarking, brand and budget management. He is also an elected Chair for the American Foundation for the Blind’s Board of Trustees. In 2015, the American Foundation for the Blind honored Shaffer with the Stephen Garff Marriott award, which recognizes exceptional professional and service achievements of people who are blind or low vision.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to address specific questions to these expert speakers with a live Q&A as a core part of the event.
