About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile Technical Writer to join our team, responsible for creating high-quality documentation that covers a range of technical and user-oriented content. This role will involve writing release notes, API documentation, UX copy, and customer-facing documentation. The ideal candidate has strong writing and communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to deliver accurate and user-friendly content.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to gather information and understand product updates, new features, and API changes.
- Create comprehensive release notes that effectively communicate software updates, enhancements, bug fixes, and known issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop clear and concise API documentation, including API reference guides, code samples, tutorials, and integration guides.
- Craft user-friendly UX copy that guides users through the product interface, provides intuitive instructions, and ensures a seamless user experience.
- Produce customer-facing documentation, such as FAQs, knowledge base articles, tutorials, and help center content, to support users in effectively utilizing our products and services.
- Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Stay up-to-date with product changes, industry trends, and best practices in technical writing and UX writing.
In order to be great at this job, you’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on release notes, API documentation, UX writing, and customer-facing documentation.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and familiarity with API concepts and web technologies.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and platforms (e.g., Git, Swagger, OpenAI, JIRA, Confluence, or other content management systems).
- Experience in UX writing, with a demonstrated understanding of user-centered design principles and an ability to write engaging and coherent user interface copy.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality documentation within deadlines.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
